Where There Is Darkness is a docudrama about Fr. Rene Robert and his plea from beyond the grave to save the life of the man who murdered him. Completed only this month, Where There Is Darkness will be screened by Holy Spirit Adult and Family Ministry at The Texas Theater on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2:30 PM. This will be its Dallas Premiere.

Winner of the LA Crime and Horror Film Festival awards of Best Documentary and Best Director, Where There Is Darkness relates the tragic murder of Fr. Rene by a man he was trying to help as well as the discovery after his death of his Declaration for Life, a document he signed 21 years earlier in which he requested that if he were ever murdered that his murderer not receive the death penalty. Filmmakers Sean Bloomfield and Cimela Kidonakis investigate the motives or murderer Steven Murray, uncovering more tragedy. Interspersed with dramatic reenactments of events and interviews with those who knew Fr. Rene and Steven Murray are highlights of the life of St. Francis of Assisi, a guiding inspiration for Fr. Rene.

This movie with broad appeal, which the sisters of the murderer call “beautiful “and “full of mercy” and viewers report as being “intense” and “powerful,” is for mature audiences only. Don’t miss the one day only screening of Where There Is Darkness.

Tickets can be purchased online for $14.50 each at https://stellamarfilms.com/collections/tickets, $13.00 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and for $15.00 at the theater while supplies last, check or cash only.
